When I was much younger, I decided to write the eddas in a first person novel format from Odin's point of view. I took what I knew as a child growing up and added in countless hours at two of my local libraries.

Over the years I lost parts of my work. Even tonight as I gather my files, one draft of the story has been corrupted into oblivion. Most significantly, years ago I lost a complete journal with an entire chapter when someone broken into the car I had been traveling in to steal my bag. It contained an original side story immediately following the death of Ymir. I also stopped writing on paper at that time. Not for distrust of the medium, but rather something of mine died that day and at least up until today I have never found it again.

Here I plan to restore my work for the sake of any one interested. Many academic historians know more than I do and even more oral historians have the entire story. But I suspect my story has flavour found nowhere else.

I had originally planned to write in the first person, but I might go back on that decision, now having read so much more than I had before. The style of the Sagas tends differently.
