In just the few years of my uni education, profs go from telling me:

1. You'll spend all your time writing device drivers so learn C, why do you waste so much time in JavaScript?
2. You'll spend all your time cleaning up bad Java, why do you waste so much time in Python?
3. You'll spend all your time programming in either Python or Ruby, why do you waste so much time in Android and ObjectiveC?
4. To finally: You'll spend all your time in nodejs/JavaScript, why do you waste so much time in C?

I dream of the day when Erlang and Rust make it onto my list.
